Losing a limb will definitely change the quality of your life. If I had to lose a limb, I would want to lose my left leg and it better be under my knee. I could use prosthetics and function just like a normal person and in most cases, no one will even notice it.

I can answer this one from experience. I have a right below the knee amputation. There is nothing I cannot do. I do not run well, never did (even before). This kind of amputation restricts nothing. I think an upper extremity would be more inconvenient, an above knee amputation is very energy depleting.

my right leg....they have such amazing prosthetics now that the leg would be the best thing to lose....you need your hands to touch, grab and feel, but you can run with a prosthetic leg. I said the right leg because I depend more on my left.

I would choose anything but my legs or feet. Then you would not be able to walk anymore!! I guess my hand or fingers (you could always get a fake one...)
