I don't make the connection between no job and drugs being the solution. If you can't afford to pay rent, you sure can't afford to buy drugs. Check into a job that has living quarters as a benefit, such as elderly care in the home, or helping a disabled or handicapped person. Many agricultural jobs offer living quarters for some employees. There is always the military. Before I turned to drugs, I'd dig ditches or panhandle on the street.

Listen..I came from a small town also. I moved to the Chicagoland area when I was 21. I lived in a really crappy place for a few years just so I could get ahead. Now, I have a 2 yr degree and a decent job and lot better place to live.

You must sacrifice something in order to gain. Take the job in a larger city area....live in a crappy place for a year or two or get a roommate so you can establish yourself and creditablity.

When you are offered a job let them know you have a living situation problem, if they are not able to help then look on the internet to see if you can find a roommate and let them know you wouldn't have rent until your first paycheck. Or maybe you could check with a church that is in the city you're going to be working in, let them know your situation they might allow you to stay in the church or have living space available. Or, as a very last resort, if you have access to any car or a VW bus you could stay in your car/bus until your first paycheck, my Mom did this when she was younger, and I had to do this once myself, it sucked but it was worth it, we have a home now.

Get a student loan and go to a Tech school. When you finish you will be employable in jobs with salaries sufficient to live comfortably.
