checking land phone lines is there an easy way?

i have no phone service and the problem is in the house

check where you know for sure you have phonesevice and work your way back to where your problem is... verify the lines arent snapped orcut by using an ohmmeter, or ameter that sends a signal thru the lines like the telco people have...usually its simply a bad connection in one wire, sometimesright atthe screw where itconnects to telco::: HOWEVER 99 times out of 100 (inmy experience)with telco(telephonecompany) they never admit its their problem! They ALWAYS say its your problem! I have proven themwrong time and timeagain and now simply have internet phoneservice I say$%@%$@#%$ the telephonecompany

get a known good phone, start from the box outside plugging it in each time until you find where the prob is. if the outside is good, and the first inside is bad, then you need a pro.

unplug all the extensions leave them unplugged fo 10 minutes, then work through each extension 1 by 1. make sure your phone itself is working first.
