So you have a super-rich friend who is giving HERSELF a gift of a cruise and along with her own gift to herself is..surrounding herself with the people whose company she enjoys...
I think your attendance IS the gift! But I know, I know, you "want to get her SOMETHING"...how about a token remembrance of the cruise--maybe a gold charm of a cruise ship, or gold earrings in the shape of a seashell (?). Work with me on this--my reasoning is "nothing I can get you, Sally, would ever compare to this wonderful cruise we're all enjoying, but please accept this as a token of our love for you--Happy birthday, I hope this reminds you of all the fun we've had on this trip!"
And if you dont think that's enough, make yourself into the trip's photographer, take pictures (posed and candid) and then present her with an album after the trip. Dont tell her (or anyone else), let it be a surprise.
Good luck and have fun on the trip! Sounds awesome!

Rich is having people around you that truly love you, and you are her friend. Sooo gather some pics of the 2 of you, make a scrap book and then add some of your cruise trip. Also, keep empty pages in the back for the next time you go on a trip together or her next birthday. Have fun.

It's not always the expensive part that matters. Try to get her something thoughtful, I mean you've known her for ten years, maybe you've had some really good times with her, buy her something that reminds her a fond memory in the past.

Does she collect anything-If so add to her collection. If not how about something with some creativity A really nice crystal vase filled with beautiful flowers. She gets to enjoy the beauty of one and keep the other as a treasure forever. Make sure the card is really good and expresses your appreciation

since she is wealthy, she probley has everything she needs/wants. so my suggestion: take lots of pictures while on the "outing" and make a decorative scrap book. get the scrap book in something that she likes, ie favorite color, pattern, etc. and so she doesnt feel left out because you dont have anything for her @ the time of her birthday.......let her know, its coming.

i think its sweet.I am sure she would appreciate about anything even a card. But what you want to give her depends on the budget ...how much do you plan to spend. You could give her a piece of Jewelry or a set.A beautiful Silk Scarf .You could make her something yourself I am sure she would appreciate that.Probably a piece of Antique or art.First fix your budget and rest will be easy

Well, being rich she probably isn't that interested in material goods, or at least it will be hard to impress her. It would try to find if she has any special interests (a stamp collection, for example), and give her something related to that interest.
