Everytime I go over to Mary Lou's house there is this smell in her room. I think she's hiding her dead pet fish where she keeps her dirty underwear. What should I do?

I would confront her alone as not to embarass her in front of friends or family. Ask her in one simple question if she notices a smell in her room. Tell her you don't mean to offend her but that you smell something thats not a nice smell. Let her know you are only telling her this as a friend and that your not trying to be mean. Explaining your reason for the question will help things go a little smoother and hopefully she won't be offended.

Good luck!

First of all ...how well do you know this person? Use your words carefully as in, I have been having problems with mice and I hate the smell when they die in the walls, as I was walking down your hall, I smelled something and wondering if you had noticed.... it is just a way to familar smell to me right now.. or maybe my nose is off... (when handling anything with smells... go about it carefully)

maybe you could ask her if she needs help redecorating her bedroom and then maybe offer help with laundry because you think she accidently put her dirty clothes in her drawer and then tell her to smell it. You just stumbled on it. Or maybe ask her if she wants to have a rummage sale, then help her go through her clothes and "accidently", stumble across her stink drawer, and point it out to her. Or maybe by her a lingerie cedar chest for birthday or holiday, that should help with the smell of those garments.

actually, the best way is just tell her..she won't be offended a long as you tell her in a nice way and as long as you really look concerned especially if the two of you are friends... but it would take a lot of courage to do that.. if you can't find the courage..offer help to clean her room.. sound casual about it.. if you don't want to do some cleaning..give her air freshener as a present.. ;)

Bring her some Fabree Allergy spray over and tell her it prevents allerigies if she sprays it on her bed mattress.
Get her a wild air freshner from the dollar store.
Hang it up while she aint lookin.

start raveing about frebreze until either she goes & buys some, or give her like 3/4 bottle so she can try it!!! Say your in a cleaning mood & start cleaning, or help her!!! Buy a perfume or body spray you think she would like, say your alergic to it, or say you got it on sale cause you thought of her!!!
