Everybody jumped on the Jeter bandwagon once he arrived on the scene, but yet when I ask a regular bandwagon Yankee fan who was the shortstop before Jeter....they show their true bandwagon nature when they can not answer the question. So who has the answer?

Tony Fernandez played it for most lf 1995....before that, it was Mike Gallego.

Tony Fernandez is the correct answer and Jeter then played 15 games and won the starting position in spring training 1996

Hey man, I like the Yankees. Is the majority of the people who answer that question wrong girls? Anyway the lead shortstop was Tony Fernandez in 1995 right before jet er came late that year.
