I'd vote for him just to shake things up. It's about time we had someone other than a white, christian, male in the WH. I'd vote for a woman, a black man, a jewish guy - basically anything that adds a little diversity.

No he cannot be president in 2008. He has been thrown into the mix to soften Hillary's bid in 2008. She will be the nominee. Obama has only been in senate 2 years and he has not offered one piece of legislation. He is handsome and articulate, much like Bill Clinton was perceived initially. But Bill was eminently qualified on many levels. Obama instantly excites his black constituents for the obvious reasons and the fact that he is the opposite of Jesse Jackson, whose time has long past. Obama will be considered for vice president with Hillary leading the ticket. But they do this so that people will get all excited over a handsome, bright, black candidate. He just hasn't accomplished much yet. There is another black man in another state who is an up and comer. Can't recall his name. Obama needs to get his name out there so that the other guy doesn't overtake him.
How many times have we asked "why would anyone want to be president?" The answer is for the power and prestige. No man or woman is qualified to take the office when they are sworn in. The job is impossible. Cannot be done. In the end presidents are figure heads with history deciding their fate.

He is not qualified to be President for the following reasons:
1. He is intelligent and articulate.
2. Everyone admits he can see both sides of an argument
3. He isn't "born again"
This combination of flaws cannot be overcome in our current political "culture."
By they way, I wonder how many of the folks who say he doesn't have enough experience voted for the current president. Now THERE was a guy with experience ..... and, boy, has it shown! NOT!

I don't know. He's best to wait until the 2012 election to get a better following. Use this name buzz time to build your political clout.
If he's a good man, he'll be noticed. He started making a name during the last pres. elections but then he went quiet again, lets see if he can keep the talks alive.

I dont think he has enough experience in general. Maybe if he stays as senator for his full term like he promised he would when he was elected he might gain the experience.

I think he's intelligent and articulate. However I don't know if he has the experience yet to be president. He's served less than half of his first term in the senate.

The media is practically setting an altar for him. I still don't know what the man has accomplished that is so worthy of the Presidency.

I don't like him one bit.
It is my hope that Condoleezza Rice will run. I believe she is truly the best qualified for the job. The best part is that my support of her has absolutely nothing to do with race or gender, but solely on her abilities. By contrast Mr. Obama seems fairly adept at using the "race card" to further his political career.

The main strike against him is that he is inexperienced, however, we see in congress now the results of "experienced" law-makers. Most of them are at best out of touch and it worst corrupt.
I think something new and fresh is exactly what this country needs in the executive branch.
