well I always thought sara with an h was the different way of spelling it. It depends on where you grow up, and why would it be weird? It is just different. My childrens names are spelled Dilyn, Dustyn, and Ayden. some people criticize me, but they are unique and will stand out not blend in.

some people (like me) want to give their children a "common" name but would like at the same time to have some originality with it, so you just change the spelling a little. I have 2 daughters that I have done that with, they are Stephenie and Ashlee

This is a daft question, people dont spell their names differently, they were already spelt that way before they were born.
language is older than the individual

Not really. The only problem I have is when people use DIFFERENT spellings for actual words.
