There is not a whole lot you can do. I'm guessing your Dr. will think about inducing soon with drugs. I was induced at 42 weeks.

I know it's SUPER frustrating, But, You've made it this far already, Most DR's won't make you go past 42 weeks. At least with my second, I was to be induced at exactly 42 weeks, Went into the hospital, And was already dilated 4cm, And ended up having him on my own! :-) I've heard that induction hurts like hell, And most of the 'home remedies' for induction, Don't work anyway...All the books and midwives say, The best place for baby up until 42 weeks is in the womb anyway! *shrug*

I do feel your pain however, It STINKS going past 40wks, I did with both of mine, And I'm currently 37 weeks along with my third and hoping I don't go the whole 42 again! Lol

Best of luck! =)

Well I can say I never went full term, but I do know the tricks of the trade to inducing labor. Walk alot, I mean alot. I went to a fair and walked around with my husband for 3 hours and went into labor 2 days later. Also they say spicy foods and sex can work. Hope you go soon. Good luck.

I went 43 weeks and 2 days with my second child... I tried everything To get him to come but nothing worked... the walking made me tired and spicy food gave me indigestion... And sex was very uncomfortable... So was the nipple stimulation... I almost smacked the nurse that was showing me how to stimulate them properly... He did come on his own at 12:01 a.m. My water broke just as I got in bed after taking a nice warm bath.... The doctor said that sometimes all it takes is a little relaxation... I was thrilled that I didn't have to get induced.... My induction date was 2 days after he came...

Just thin kof it this wya, your baby is getting all the time necessary to get ready for it's first moments of life. You cannot rush things. I will say though, I went into labour after I did a lot of walking one day..they say that helps things progress. But you should take an easy and just let things run it's course, labour is very traumatic for babies, and they need the time to prepare. d=

Hang in there mom! You are in the home stretch and you are doing great! The baby will come very very soon. There is nothing you can do that is safe at this time to speed things along -- don't listen to old wives tales and home remedies. You are almost to the finish line!!

Just try to go for long walks and have your bags for the hospital packed.

Congrats to you. Hope all goes well!

Not a lot!

But you could try:

walking up a hill
eating fresh pineapple
eating a curry/hot food
walking upstairs backwards?!

I think they usually induce you at 42 weeks - Good luck!!

Raspberry leaf tea (not raspberry tea)
Get a massage (have them concentrate on your sciatic nerve)
Sex
Walking

My daughter was 1 week late, and my son was 2 weeks late. The massage was the kicker--I had one and he worked for 20 minutes on the sciatic nerve from the back of my thigh up to my hip--2 days later I had a baby in my arms! Congrats mommy!

Have sex with your husband. I know that is probably the last possible thing that you would want to do right now, but it works!

...I just did the math, why haven't your doctors enduced your labor yet? You are way over due!

ON YOUR NEXT VISIT TO THE HOSPITAL TAKE YOUR LABOUR DAY BAG, THEY NORMALLY INDUCE YOU WHEN YOU REACH 41 WEEKS. THAT IS WHAT THEY DID TO ME.
