hello neha,
i'm swarna.
i faced the same problem but got rid of it.
i used to be vey modern but that does not make sense if you have this kind of problem.
the best way is to close your eyes for five minutes and breathe deeply before starting and then cocentrate on it.
repeat it five times at least in an hour.
whenever you are free just keep reading.
you can take a seperate book and and jot down points.
if you have done this aldready you should take another method-a simple one but a boring one.
do meditation for an hour everyday and while doing it you can revise your lessons.
in the exam time dont concentrate on anything else except for the meditation you have done-i mean the things you revised during your meditation.
it will help you.
well, it has worked for me and now i top in the class.
i wish you all the best.
your new friend,
swarna:)

Do you try to use the things you learn, instead of memorising them by rote? You can try to read stuff on the things you have to learn, and the internet can be very useful for that. You can also join groups that discuss the topics you need to know, trying to argue or to find the right solution to a question or problem will also help you in a sense that you will be working and practicing the skill involved in learning different subjects.
If things are not meaningful to you in any way, you will certainly forget it all very fast. I bet you know the names and information about your favorite singers, actors, and other things you are always talking to your friends about by heart, don't you? so make those things also focus of your attention, too.
open your mind, and the world will be yours.
best.

Try to revise the same what you have learnt previous day, most preferably in the morning. It will take less time and will give you confidence on what you have studied fast.

When I get home before i sit down and relax I read all my days notes from each subject so they all sink in. I also have revsison cards for each subject and write the most imprtant points from each unit in each subject I find that helps too!
