For Christmas and Thanksgiving, do you and your family/friends usually have a buffet or do all of y'all eat at a table? And if you do eat at a table, do people usually start arguing? If so, explain.

And for the buffet, I mean there's a table and you just get your food and socialize wherever you want in the house.

I've always had a sit-down meal for the holidays, but now that my kids are grown and have other places to visit, I may start doing a buffet because it's more flexible. There were no arguments at my table for the holiday, we were always happy to be together. Now at my husbands family there was always an argument, which is why I stopped going. Who needs that?

The food is usually set up on another table or counter and then everyone sits down at a table and eats. We don't argue until later when we watch football.

buffet, My family is pretty big and in order to get everyone around a table would take to much, so a buffet is more logical.

There are so many people in our family, who come to Holiday dinners, we have to do both. We have the "food table" where you fix your plate and pick up your drink...once your plate is made, you take your place at the "dinner table" unless you are a child, of course, then you are banned to the family room with the "TV trays" ( Sometimes I wish I were one of the kids again) man I miss the "TV trays"...
