why would someone become so violent to join the ranks of the gihadists?
Why
Why
Why
because they are PISSED - and why might they be pissed? -

I'm sure your not them are you? To go over there and start killing people? 'hmmm maybe we in our proud American Great White Way are just as bad- or worse...could be?

has anyone stopped to think "Is the a better way to stop the cycle of violence?"

yes but the sad fact remains - other methods simply don't make amazing profits for Haliburton (and other weapons manufactureres) very well.
*sigh*
...pass the ammo...

oh - the real death toll is estimated by a very survey in Iraq to be between 400,000 and 900,000

>>>The survey was done by Iraqi physicians and overseen by epidemiologists at Johns Hopkins University's Bloomberg School of Public Health. <<<

Our problems in the Middle East started with the creation of Israel and was later exacerbated by the decision in the 1950s to install a dictator in Iran. There are one billion people in the Middle East and many of them hate us because of our policies, to assume that we can defeat them militarily when they can just go into hiding and randomly attacked is wishful thinking. We could of course use nuclear weapons but do you think that is a viable option when we would be irradiating the oilfields? Somehow or another we're going to have to learn some way to get along with these people. The world is full of children who think we can bully anyone because we are the only" superpower", what they don't realize is that other people have access to weapons that could seriously damage us no matter what we do them.

so far you've been criticised for fuzzy math, I don't know why. I don't think you were trying to show off your math skill.
But it's so obvious that bringing death and destruction to a people does not make them likely allies, nor vilifying them. They are surefire recipes for making your own terrorist. Who possibly gains?-apart from the usual suspects.

Wow, so now you are a mathematician. Your statement is not based on any kind of fact or rational thought. Please be a bit more responsible in your posting. Stop trying to illicit hateful responses. There are too many intelligent people out there to believe this bile.

The study has been widely questioned and discredited.

I reject many of your premises.

The Germans and the Japanese quit, although I'm sure they were "pissed" at us too.
