Call your service provider. They'll track and investigate it for you. They may not provide you with the tele # of the caller, but they will notify the authorities as necessary. Also, ask them if they can block that tele # from ringing thru to your cell.
Look into: Telecommunications Act.
Telecommunications Act, 47 U.S.C. 223 (a)(1)

If the number says blocked or does not show then she does not answer it. If she does not answer the prankster will get bored. No need to get the law involved quite yet. She could call the cell company, ask for a different number and tell her contacts that she has a new number. Common practice and problem solved. Sure it could be a random caller that likes the fact that she answers or has not bothered to change numbers. But you know most oft these calls are from someone one knows. She should change her number if not answering does not work. If she changes and someone calls the new number then you will KNOW that it is someone with a beef. You did not say how old you are nor did you say if you have heard messages. What time of day does the phone ring? Does she scoot off when she gets a call. Put in the back of your brain that you might be being played. It is one or the other.

first off, if its a prank caller, and they are blocking their number it will not come up unavailable, it will say "private/blocked caller" Its no different than a land line, havent you ever noticed how many unknown callers you get and you pick them up and they are just hang ups?? its just something within the telephone companys... Its not someone prank calling you because that is not what it would say. Everyone gets these from time to time, and some numbers get them several times daily.. Just like my phone, i get at least 3 a day.. they are just annoyances...I bet if you look into your agreement with the company, there is a teeny tiny little line saying that the test the phones in this way.. Well i know for a fact it is with verizon. My husband used to work there when we first met. if its becuase of this, there is nothing you can do. Now if its an obvious caller like they arre saying "hahaha" and haning up, then change your #

You can't, unless you go to the police and get some sort of warrant/subpoena for the phone company.
Is there a setting on your phone where it will only ring if people you have stored in your phone book call you? You could switch to that setting so the person's calls don't even get through to you. My phone has an ignore button, I just press that and it stops ringing. Or you can always just ignore the calls from Unavailable period.

There is an option, I don't know what it's called, but whenever someone calls you from a number that's unavailable, it promts them to put in a code, or else the call won't go through. This way, you don't have to deal with crap like this.

See if the operator will trace all unavailable numbers that call your phone. I take it the calls aren't the funny kind.

call the phone company let them know what is going on and they will put a trace on your phone and find out who it is and then they can block tohse calls from comeing any more, but you will have to write down the time and date when you recieve new pranks after you have the trace put on your phone

your provider can find out, tell them the problem you're having and you need to have it stopped. every call whether unavailable or otherwise has an electronic signature that you may not see but your provider can track it down.

Change your phone number. You yourself won't find out the number. If they're harassing you, file a p. report.
