I've been laid off so many times in my life. Probably about 6-7 times over the last 20 years.

I got laid off 2 1/2 years ago because the company I was working for (a major TV magazine) is slowly going out of business.

Yes, about two years ago. They said that they didn't think my mind was completely on the job- they didn't care that I was pregnant and my partner had a suspected brain tumour...
Good news was that I was only supposed to be there to cover someones maternity leave and only had a week left at that place anyway!
And thankfully, my partner doesn't have a tumour.
