Yes!

He swore on the Bible to defend and uphold, yet he has done nothing but shred, shred and shred some more.

I shall not get into the legality of GW Bush's actions (being the president does give him significant political powers). However I do subscribe to the relative observations.

When I think of all the actions taken by president Bush during his terms in office I simply wonder if ex-president Clinton was done justice during the calls for his impeachment over lieing over a very personal (as opposed to national, let alone inter-continental) issue.

As regards to president Bush's motions as regards to the constitution, I think that it is a worrying sign when a president approves of motions that sacrifice the rights of the people.

Changes in the constitution that are deemed anti-constructive in nature also do little to retain the credibility of the president, hence also reflecting badly upon the nation.

Should Bush be impeached? I frankly think that he has done a lot of harm through assisting the destabilization of the Middle East but even so it has come to the point where impeachment is not really worth the effort as he is already well into his second and final term in office (can G/W. Bush run for presidency after a term out of office? Nothing wrong with that imho but if so then it becomes more important for him to take responsibility for his actions on the world stage)

I do note that I am not American but Maltese (although have visited a couple of times). Just to make things clear.

Well If Clinton Lying in Office about Sex in the Oval office and it was the Lying that got him Impeached,
And Bush Lied us into a War, and is in the process of trashing the Constitution,
Hum, I would have to say Yes. The republicans are saying that the Dem's will use this as a opportunity to impeach the President and therefore nothing will get done in Washington- Like anything is? and What exactly Did the REPUBLICANS do when Clinton lied- A JUMPED ALL OVER IT LIKE FLEAS ON A DOG.
So what they don't want the same Courtesy.

So lets see- Lying about sex(what married guy wouldn't) vs Lying to get us into a war were Americans are being killed.

I agree with the other posters, what offense are you referring to, and why would it be impeachable?

I am no fan of W., but I do not know what you are asking.

Was the invasion of Iraq an impeachable offense? I don't know. Is there any proof that Bush knowingly lied to the American public. We can all speculate, but without proof, he cannot be impeached.

Presidential Signing Statements, where he says that he will not enforce legislation passed by congress unless he wants to. I think he is on shaky ground in that respect. But again, is it an impeachable offense, I do not know.

NSA wiretapping, seems that he did go around the law on this one. Does it rise to the level of an impeachable offense, maybe. He did inform congressional leaders (both parties) and they did nothing about it. Should they be impeached as well?

I think that W. has made a lot of mistakes during his time in office, but I am not sure that these mistakes rise to the level of impeachable offenses.

I'd love to hear you list any articles or amendments to the Constitution that he has "trashed"... And then please state HOW he has committed an offense that would qualify him for Impeachment... Where is your "High Crime or Misdemeanor" ??

I'm so tired of political "slamming" from both parties... without any solid evidence or statement.

In the United States, the oath of office for the President of the United States is specified in the U.S. Constitution (Article II, Section 1):

I do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will faithfully execute the Office of President of the United States, and will to the best of my Ability, preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States.

I haven't seen any violation of the OATH...So, my answer would be NO...

Apparently not! With his popularity in the dumpster and a Democratically controlled House of Representatives, had he, the Articles of Impeachment would seem a "no brainer". If it is such an obvious "fact" among people of good will, then why aren't the Dem's taking any action? But thanks for sharing!

No. That's reason number 605 the Dems won't start impeachment process. They'd have to prove he did something illegal and when they can't all this free press they're getting will go away. The courts will decide the NSA wiretapping was legal (as they have done a million times in the past). The NYT apologizes finally for the Banking Leak. The Patriot Act was passed by Congress, so it cannot be used to impeach the President. The Dems know they can't buy propoganda better then the press is spreading. They will keep quiet.

He hasn't trashed the Constitution or anything like that. Because of your hate for him, you can't see the job that he does, good or bad. Get another hobby.

Can someone please tell me if there is a Democrat out there that don't have a compelling urge to bash Bush by coming up with all these ridiculous scenarios. It makes Democrats appears that there is not a lot of deep thinkers out there.
