Check your tax code with your local tax office - not the one on your pay slip, the office will probably be located in your town hall. You'll need to present them with documents such as your most recent P60 and details of any stocks and shares and savings which you own, also any monies coming from sources such as rents and the sale of goods and properties etc. They are there to help you and if there is a problem they will put it right and if you've paid too much tax, you will get a rebate.
