When George Bush visited New Orleans after Katrina, he was lead to a corner where a charityorganisation was giving away food. He started helping and also gave food to people. All the press where present, including a German TV-crew. What they saw was unbelievable; the charity stand was build in a few minutes, Bush & the press did their thing and everything was quickly disassembled and put away, it was all fake!
The complete organisation of this act was filmed and shown on German television. None of it was aired in the US.
Cooperating with these charades is misleading the public and taken as easy and convenient by US-press. Why are they so lame!?

Because the 'press' is no longer the Fourth Estate, watchdog and protector over the evils of government. Over the past few decades, the government has learned how to control, intimidate and manipulate the media.
The giant media conglomerates are part of the cozy relationship between big business and big government, and you no longer have anyone (except the smaller 'alternative media') looking out for the people, questioning the government, or investigating the government's actions. The government press office churns out press releases, which the media giants dutifully read verbatim on the air, and print "as is" in their newspapers.
Not since the days of Watergate has there been a press that thrives on healthy skepticism, follows-up on curious government activity, investigates or even asks hard questions of the government, or even pretends to be objective, accurate, truthful or complete when "reporting" the "news".
And we, the people simply accept their spoon-fed pabulum as 'gospel', according to George W. Bush. -RKO-

After putting total political hack in charge of FEMA President Bush had to get German News to cover him handing stuff out. Are you sure he was handing out bags of ice that someone was getting ten dollar a bag. In general think press in this country is lame because it is controlled by too few. Bush or any other jerk in White house can get all the coverage they want if they pony up money for Public Service Announcements.

The reason is that the MSM or mainstream media in the US are recruited from journalism schools. They are in the main very rich ivy league graduates and you would be hard pressed to find a courageous one in the blow dried bunch of them. In the US the non-MSM media is very brave and interesting. I would recommend giving your time and money to them and to just laugh at the MSM. Also abuse them if you see them in real life.
