A good credit report shows that you are a responsible, reliable and trust worthy person.
This is particularly important in security related jobs (airport security etc) as well as most financial industry related jobs (bank, investment, insurance etc).
Best wishes.

Credit reports may or may not affect applications for employment. It depends on the type of job and/or the employer.
Financial jobs, especially those that handle money, are most likely to require a very good credit report. Jobs that require bonding may also require a good credit report.
Some really bad employers use their own discretion in judging credit reports. Usually they miss-use credit reports for determining employment eligibility.
Take care,
Troy

It depends on what kind of job you are getting.
Check out the FTC website for some more info on businesses using credit reports in hiring decisions.

they may not hire you. i have crappy credit, i owe at least 7k. i applied for TSA (airport security) they do credit check but i didnt know how crappy of credit they accepted, i heard by word of mouth if you owe more than 5k ur not hired. i was upset cuz for $13.95 hr I'll scan people luggage, touch there shoes etc plus airport is 5 min from me. i would ask somebody or if you feel comfortable ask mngmt about it, be professional about it though. tell them your somewhat worried, somehting along those lines. cuz companies may see that you have crappy credit/owe money and think you'll take a brib from somebody, thats how my boyfriend explained it to me..i wouldnt take a brib from anyone, its my business to clean it up, i was stupid after high school and got credit card crazy etc...good luck...i hate when a job description fits you then at the end the qualifications states credit check.
