Because people like validation of their beliefs whether they're right or wrong - conservatives and liberals alike. Fox, Rush and Hannity are like a "dream team" for conservatives because they "sing" their language day in and day out, just as NPR and public broadcast television make liberals swoon.
I listen to both sides sometimes and even though I thoroughly disagree with most of the conservative crap these guys spew I also realize that they are there for the buck and to please an audience. They can't hold a candle to true conservatives who really make sense (whom I also disagree with but consider them "sane") like George Will for example.
I hate liberal extremism as well. Today on NPR I heard that soon, grocery stores like Whole Foods (in Berkeley, CA of COURSE) will place the label "Animal Compassionate" on food we eat where the animals have been treated according to "humane standards" while being fed and housed. This is so totally absurd to me. So, it's okay to EAT the animals as long as they're treated humanely while on death row???
This is why I'm somewhere in the middle, which comes from looking at both sides of an issue and making my own decisions.

i do no longer have faith that. i think of there are a number of professional-selection conservatives considering there at the instant are not adequate Liberals interior the rustic of baby bearing age to account for the variety of abortions being accomplished each year. i think of there are gay Conservatives too. And anti-gay marriage Liberals. In a political profile quiz I found out that i'm in help of sixteen% of the Conservative perspectives. i'm valuable there a quite some Conservatives who're supportive of a few Liberal perspectives to boot. There are open and closed minds in the two of the ideologies and few who're a hundred% of the two. How close minded do you may desire to be to think of that all and sundry Liberals are that closed minded?

For the same reason that closed minded liberals accept spoon fed crap from Howard Dean, Al Franken, Al Sharpton, CNN , Air America, and all the rest.

I agree with Shiraz on this one. If you dont agree with them that is fine. However, instead of insulting Conservatives by calling us close-minded and insulting Fox, Rush Limbaugh and Sean Hannity by calling their reporting and points of view crap give reasons why you do not agree with them. Back up your statement with facts and observations. Have you actually listened to Rush or Sean? Fox news is not a Conservative network, they simply present news in an unbiased format. I think of myself as someone that wants facts and I enjoy listening to people who share my point of view on politics and other matters but I do not judge others if their opinions differ from mine.

I don't listen to Rush, but I do prefer to get both a conservative and a liberal viewpoint. Then I can make up my own mind. I detest other networks giving only one side (the lib side) and trying to brainwash me. If they DO by chance have a conservative viewpoint--they can't let me hear the information without trying to interject THEIR opinion. Example--Couric's 'repugnant' comment made in response to Mr. Rohrbougho's op ed about his son's death at Columbine. She couldn't let the man share his opinion without saying it was repugnant because he mentioned God? She should have said nothing -- people who find God repugnant would've left his commentary as his opinions. Just seems the libs in the media can't help themselves from interjecting THEIR morality (or lack there of) on us.

I am a Conservative I tend to be interested more in facts. I use to be a Liberal 20 years ago and feelings was more important than facts then.

Maybe we should listen to the Dixie Chicks, or Barbara Streisand, or maybe the Baldwin brothers because they obviously are qualified to lead a nation.

Because someone needs to tell them what to think. They have to be very aware of their allegiance to the flag and the president ( not the country) as title and imagery matter more than any thing in the politics of gaining support fro illegal wars. As soon as a situation arises thats difficult to handle with modern mumbo jumbo republican fascist speak then the talking head blabbermouths will have to step in and write the script for them.

Because they want to believe. They want to think that they are the good ones. They must have images on which they can project their hatred and in turn cleanse themselves from all the sins they commit; you know, all that pedophile stuff that they have going for them.
Thinking hurts them, so they tend to shy away from that.
