the dust seems to "stick" to the glass shelf. so when i dust i have to take everything off and get the glass cleaner and "wash" it down. I was wondering if anybody had any "tricks" to use so it wouldn't make dusting such a chore.

I have great results by using RainX that is used also for my auto windsheild, (I use the spray on type) it also comes in paste and creams.
just follow the direction,s on the container .The dust just seem,s to slide off the glass , without causing the whatever you have on the shelves.
This last weeks longer than normal dusting.

There is this great jewelry cleaner that also works wonders on glass it's called Razzle Dazzle, clean any surface and it makes it smudge and steam resistant. Works on shelves, windows, tables, etc. The finish lasts about 30 days and after you use it just use a swiffer duster if you notice any dust build up. I think that it must have silicone in it because it actually prevents static build up so dust doesn't build up as quickly. I got some 2 years ago and use it on absolutely everything. LOVE IT! Really cuts cleaning time and makes tiding up when guests are "popping by" a breeze. I can't cheer this stuff enough. Hope you like it as much!

I usually start with a fairly warm solution of water and just about any cleanser. You may want to turn off the fridge, because the longer it stays warm, the better. Leave that mixture to soak for about 5 minutes. Typically that will soften it enough to remove a bunch of it. Repeat as needed. Do not make the water too hot, or you run the risk the glass will expand too rapidly, causing it to break. Turning off the fridge and letting it warm up first will also help prevent this problem, since the temperature difference won't be as great.

Use a mixture of vinegar and water when cleaning. Dust doesn't collect as fast on them.

As long as the glass is completely clean before the dust settles you can use canned air to blow the dust off the shelf without having to move everything off.
