Paid leave is vacation, but can be used for other things.

Holidays are those one-days off (Christmas, Thanksgiving, labor Day, etc.)

Paid Leave is anything from 1 day off for being sick, to a week off for going on vacation. Each day you take "Off" will deduct one day from your leave, but you still get paid for that day. Could also be called "Personal Days" "Sick Days" "Accrued Time Off".

Holidays are for when the company closes for say, Christmas, New Years, Thanksgiving, etc. They pay you to take that day off because you can't go into work.

Now for my job, we get-

3 Wks Vacation time, which we accrue (we earn so many hours per week worked in a "bank" of vacation time)
5 Personal Days- At the start of each year
5 Sick Days- At the start of each year
10 Holidays- each year

The only thing we can take with us to the next year (Carry over) is 40 hours Vacation Time. Anything else we don't use up, gets taken away on Dec. 31st.

Oh and we have paid materity leave too. :)~

Leave (leave of absence) is time off from your employer. The 10 days Holiday are National holidays - for which you get paid. It all amounts to the same thing - time off from work with pay.
