pere pressure is my point. such as getting plastic suregery so that some strangers say u look nice,and many other things?

I don't believe that. Ultimately we all make our own choices..nobody makes you do anything unless they have a gun pointed at you.

Peer pressure is one of the main reasons. Also the media and what people see in stores, magazines, etc has a similar affect as peer pressure. The issue of image really only occurs in places lie north America where people are more concerned with how they look then just surviving. This can take you to Maslow's hierarchy of needs. In Africa they do not let peer pressure get to them because they have trouble meeting some of their basics needs, while ion North America we have all of our basic needs met so we start to focus more on other needs. Most people I know have all of their need met except for self actualization. This self actualization may be influenced by society.

Society does not make you do anything. You can go against the grain. No one has to give in to peer pressure.
