History is to blame, because different boundaries are defined at different times. My grandmother lived and died in Holyhead, and spoke Welsh to all her neighbours, watched TV in Welsh, yet had to speak English when ringing people in Cardiff/Swansea. The true Welsh were never defeated by the Romans, the southerners are mostly 1/2 English, and the south has always been supported by London.
I was born and raised in Lancashire (England) and take great pleasure in sympathising openly with people unfortunate enough to have been born on the wrong side of the Pennines, ie Yorkshire. Whilst I would help a Tyke, if he were on fire, I will never support them when playing cricket against Lancs.
This type of banter reflects the wars of the roses, and makes for much humour, but does not equate to hatred or arguement. It's just fun.

I"m not surprised the people from South Wales argue with those ignorant b"stards from North Wales. I have always found the people in the South to be friendly and helpful, but in the North they are arrogant, unhelpful and revert to speaking Welsh when you try to talk to them. What"s their problem, if they want Independence then I for one say "good riddance"

Where there are differences there will be arguments. However, North and South Wales are not different countries, just for the record.

Excellent question! My sister and I spoke on the phone about this issue recently. I could not understand why our world is the way it is. Why people kill each other, and why our government always feels the need to get involved in others disputes. Don't misunderstand me, I am for the War. Just not how it is being handled. In a perfect world all nations would live in peace. People argue...human nature, but why do you have to go and shoot someone over that arguement? I will be anxious to read your responses, because I have no real answer for this planets extreme violence.

Easy - the people in North Wales are nice, the people in South Wales are not!

It is rather stupid isn't it? I understand what you are saying, Northerners don't like Southerners, Highlanders don't like Lowlanders, yet in a crisis we all stick together. I am a Born-Again-Christian and the Bible tells you it is reasonable to be angry, but it also tells us, "In your anger do not sin".

We should by all means try to avoid pointless arguments, however some people can't be told and will always argue, unless they come to know Christ as their Saviour. I used to be very argumentative, but after becoming a Christian, arguments and hatred disappeared from within me.

But i do agree with you and ask myself, why countries have to argue to the point of war, and I agree with one of the responses you received, I was also for the Iraq war, but not to how it's being handled. But I was under the impression, we were just going to get Saddam Hussain (did I spell that correctly). Let's face it, their are many who are just as bad as he was in many countries in this world, but they don't have the Oil....!
God Bless You

You argue with your brothers and sisters don`t you? arguing is good amongst friends, everyone has a different opinion about things, It would be an awful situation if we all agreed all the time.

Why not? People argue with people, regardless whether they're from the same family, neighbourhood, town, county, country, continent, etc. People argue, full stop.

Also, neighbours, streets, estates, villages, in fact all the way up the line. It's a good job we don't have a neighbouring planet.
