Obama made a great speech at last Democrat convention in 2004 and became a media star. He is now being seen as potential President. IMHO, he is still raw and inexperienced. So far, we have seen a lot of hype and style and still has much to prove in terms of substance.
BTW, if you have not noticed, I am back after managing to stave off bankruptcy and avoiding sleeping on the streets ! If people like Dubya Bush and Obama can be President, I may considering running for President in 2008 also. If you support me, vote at TheErrandboy site :)

He would be great. Hil's got too much baggage. I'm still po'ed at Gore from election 2000; John Kerry was just too darned policitally correct and left his backbone at home. Barack is exactly who we need to rep us especially in the Middle East, where the look at Condy like "girlfriend, please". I am so tire of Dubya looking crazy, with his "hold the course" mantra, dragging us into the ninth circle of hell. And after all that Bush has put us through (habus coripus, weapons of mass destruction, the debt, supreme court judges we can't trust, we need some who can help repair our reputation in the world community. Barack is the one. You know, he has a new book out, if you REALLY want to get to know him, read the book. "The Audacity of Hope: We don't do any homework on the folks that represent us, that is why Americans have so many problems with our leaders.

I don't know about overrated. I have watched or listened to many of his speeches and he comes across to me as a very well balanced, intelligent and wise person. This has nothing to do with race or family, its just the way he is and presents himself.

I have not heard another politician that could convey himself as well as Obama. There is little double speak in what he says, and little evasion from the questions he is asked (check the Meet the Press from this past week). Don't get me wrong, he does use some, but no more than any of the rest of us.

The only other person I would personally want to vote for this coming presidential election (after watching many of the candidates interviewed numerous times, and looking at their records) is Joe Biden. Both of these people share my views and convey them directly.

He hasn't carried out something yet so why do not you wait to guage him then? That makes extra sense than in basic terms sit down there and whinge about him at the same time as he hasn't been given a probability he's unlike any of those Disney and Twilight losers

The trouble with "experience" in politics is that the more 'experience' you gain, the less of a public servant you become.
I think Obama would make a great President - and mostly because of his lack of 'experience'. Leadership requires people of integrity, unclouded honesty, patience, and thoughtfulness.
All we have in the White House, and in Congress, today is a gang of criminals who look out only after their own interests and the interests of their peers.
The White House, our judges' chambers, and the United States
Congress is full of pedophiles, petty thieves, homosexuals, liars and cheats, cross dressers, bad-check writers, wife beaters, shoplifters, white collar criminals, gambling addicts, alcoholics, drug abusers, rapists, and maybe even a murderer or two.
We could use a Capitol Building and Oval Office full of those 'inexperienced' people whose credibility and obeisance might restore truth, justice, and integrity to what has become a most incompetent, bloated, arrogant, contemptible, corrupt federal government. -RKO-

I don't think so. I think the fact the he is, as you said, "raw" is a good thing. I like seeing a guy who is well-spoken, hasn't become disenfranchised, and has good ideas about how to move our country forward, in the race for presidency.

I hope he runs, and I hope he wins. I think he would make an excellent president.

His style is that of a charismatic leadership. However these types of leaders are very good at getting people to agree with them, but over time most prove to be ineffective over time.

I want to know more about him before I make a decision about his fitness to be our president. However, I would love to have a viable candidate to knock Hillary on her a**!!!

he is overrated.. the only reason he is getting the hype is because of his background and race. I'm no racist but its the truth. The Dems are so desperate for power they are digging deep to find it...
