I used the Aveeno body wash. It helped with the dryness and the breaking out.
The breakouts are due to hormones moreso than anything else. But using a soap that is not drying but still cleans well will assist. I don't know if there is anything that will totally stop it.
You can also try to wear clothing that doesn't hold the oils next to the skin. Something v-cut or loser fitting will help with this. Also wash your bedding often.
Good luck!

Anything medicated over the counter is safe. I have acne with pregnancy too, and asked my doctors already. Theres really only two over the counter medications available, and neither are in high enough concetration to pose a threat.
but honestly, theres nothing you can do about it to make it go away completely, theres just too many changing hormone levels.
I use that nutrogena acne free system on my face back and chest. It works better than anything else i've used so far.

It's caused by the increase in hormone production, the same thing that causes pregnant women to sometimes become very moody. Any gentle body wash/soap will be fine and it will clear up when the hormone production settles down.

i had this same problem early in my pregnancy ( i'm 35 weeks now ). i used a loofah sponge with dove body wash it worked the best of all i tried. i don't think anything really helped. i tried lots of different washes. but after i got out of the first trimester, all the breakouts pretty well ended. with the exception of an occasional pop up every now and then.

You could always try Neutrogena- The daily scrub is suppose to be touch on breakouts and gentle on the skin.
If this doesn't help I would go see a dermatologist if you can afford it. They can prescribe Cleocin T and benzamycin which will help it clear up.
Are you having a boy?! I have noticed that a lot of my females friends who have had males had an extreme breakout esp. on their backs. The doctor told them it was because of the increase in testosterone.

I dunno but I feel you. I haven't had a zit since high school and I broke out with 3 on my face the other morning... lol. I use a moisturizing body wash, from Dove, with cucumber extracts, and my body has been fine... but out of 3 face washes nothing works yet.
