J.K. Rowling stated in the summary of the Goblet of Fire that it was the fourth book of seven. So unless she does some kind of 'Harry's life after school' series, this next book will be the end. Which apparently pleases a surprising number of people. As for what is going to happen... This book is based on magic. And magic, in my opinion, is The Great Loophole. Anything you want to have happen can happen; there are no limits or boundaries, other than the ones you set. So there is no possible way I can guess Rowling's next move. There are a few obvious things, of course. Such as R.A.B. is that estranged relative of Sirius Black, the one who was killed for deserting the Death Eaters. As for Dumbledore's death. It's more than possible he managed to get out of it. Snape, for instance, fired some sort of green light at Dumbledore, but there are probably hundreds of green light spells in Harry's world. So why should we believe Dumbledore died, when such little detail was given? Unless Rowling says otherwise, however, we are just going to have to accept this most recent loss, just like Sirius in the fifth book. And how lame was that, by the way? This courageous man, an excellent wizard, falls through an unexplained veil, and we haven't seen anything of him since. Lupin told Harry it means Sirius died. But there was no explanation of that, either. So I am just getting the tiniest bit tired of Rowling not explaining these huge plot twists in her books.

I do think it will be the last. All of the loose ends will be tied up in the final book so there is no reason for there to be more stories. Afterall, how can this series possibly be topped? I am debating whether Harry will die. I think it will be Snape (a sacrifical death) and someone from the regular Harry Potter crew, like Neville or Hagrid. However, there have been no female deaths on the Harry Potter side so maybe that is a clue.... I don't know but I love conspiracy theories.

I am sure it will be the last book. Rowlings planned for 7 books and she has every reason to stop there. Life is too short to spend your entire writing career in one world.

As for what happens, I am sure that it will be Harry AND Neville who face Valdemort. I also think Ginny Weasley will figure in and the house elf.

House elves have magic of their own and they might find it easier to find the horcruxes.

Oh, I suspect that the one who found and destroyed the necklace horcrux was one of the Black family. Probably not the brother, but one of the parents. I think it would be funnier than hell if Mrs. Black was the one who did it.

Have you ever wondered what happened to the parents of James Potter and the parents of Lilly? I can't help wondering if Valdemort or his followers got them. It's unlikely that both sets of parents would have died of natural causes.

If Valdemort did get them, then Aunt Petunia has a real reason to protect Harry beyond the blood issue. Just a thought.

I ought to accept as true with a number of the others that replied. Re examine the sequence. I re examine the full element each and each time a sparkling e book develop into going to be popping out or a sparkling action picture. you somewhat understand so plenty extra once you examine them back. it somewhat is astounding and only exhibits how gifted JK somewhat is. The books pass so completely. She had this remarkable tale maped out in her head from the 2d she started the 1st e book. It somewhat exhibits as a results of way issues pass and how you already know on the top of the seventh e book. i'm going to be re reading back as quickly as i'm accomplished with this stupid on line college classification. I have not have been given any overtime to examine now. needless to say that doesn't shop me off yahoo solutions....=)

yes it will be the last, harry is not a horcrux, but he might have to die, r.a.b. is regulas black, kreacher has the locket horcrux, if you want to speculate on the final book go to dissendium.com, or mugglenet.com, both good harry potter sites, and the only way dumbledor will come back is in the portrait in the headmasters office, that is all, no more from him. he is definatly dead and will not be coming back.

yup yup yup! I think ron and hermione are going to have to kill harry in the next book. I think he's going to be the last horcrux, so one of them will have to kill harry and the other will have to kill voldemort, and then somehow dumbledor will come back/save harry's soul. I'm not quite sure, but it'll all work out

I do not understand why the young boys and girs are falling for this book. That shows the bankruptcy of the imagination of the modern day generation. It appeals to them, more because its story line is akin to some of the tele-serials, and not because of its intrinsic literary vaue.

That is a very interesting theory Chipper. I am ready to see how it all wraps up. I too think Dumbledore will be back, somehow....
