I would appreciate both opinions and factually-based (if any!) answers.

I recently noticed when I was speaking to someone that they seemed to be looking right into my eyes, as if through my pupils (if that wasn't my own imagination). I'm usually comfortable in coversation and make regular eye contact but when speaking to the aforementioned person, well, perhaps it was just a second too long and I just had to look away...

So what does this mean? Simply attentiveness? Or my own imagination? I certainly *did* feel uncomfortable although I have spoken to this person several times before and noticed nothing (i.e. when they didn't *glare* into my eyes)

-Sigh- Body language can be quite confusing x.x;

It means either they are fascinated by what you are saying or they just read an article saying that the way to get a girl's attention is to feign interest by maintaining eye contact. Since that eye contact suggestion seems to be showing up lately in a lot of answers I would guess it is that.

It could be that he is an extremely attentive person; but if you have not noticed this before, I believe he is definitely trying to relate to you that he is especially interested in you and what you think and have to say. He may be doing this on a conscious basis because he believes that you deserve the respect of 100% attention. I can understand how this could throw you off guard though and make you feel uncomfortable. You're just going to have to verbally let him know that instead of feeling impressed by his undivided attention you feel a little bit like you are being interrogated or at least uncomfortable enough to make you lose your train of thought.

Maybe he feels kinda uncomfortable while talking to u and might have read Les Giblin who says "look into the eye of the opposite person to bring s/he to one common level as urs."

It means that they are extremely interested in what you are saying! Alot of times people do this to study other people. And some can tell if a person is lying this way!

When someone is talking, there needs to be some eye contact made to show that they are getting their point across...this is not to be confused with the flirtious eye contact that is made when someone likes what they see.

Probably wanted to look attentive, even though he wasn't listening to a word you were saying.

Were you speaking of a serious matter? If so maybe he/she was trying to see if you were lying or trying to gage your emotions on the subject.
