I think there is a 1-800 homeless prevention hotline. I have been here myself. Try calling info, even from a friends house if they will let you. Check in the blue pages of you're phone book, or a friend's for any government offices in macomb county.
Look under transportation, as in some places free transportation is provided to help people get help.
Or possibly you could apply over the phone, or over the net! I did. Couldn't believe it. My application was processed.
Good luck. Is there anyone who could stay with you and help you? Or someone you can stay with at least in an emergency?
Don't spend money on food if you can get foodstamps, or churches. That will be one thing covered then, and you can put that money to rent instead, see? One thing less to worry about.
Sometimes Catholic Charities, or other churchs, such as the Salvation Army can help? The Red Cross? That I don't know. I think they are for Catostrophic Emergencies.
Any town housing available? That can be free sometimes, but I guess you're in a rural area.
I wish you the best of luck. Things will turn around for the better, I am sure. Every crisis brings an opportunity.

I'm not judging your situation contrary to the other responses. but I'm sure the county you live in has some type of municipal support and or charities that can help you get on your feet. look in your government section of your telephone book, and since you have excess to the net browse your county for additional information. i hope that helps and keep your head up!
