Many ISP's are now blocking port 25 so smtp will not work. Normally they do not block their own email servers when accessed through their own network. So set your OE to use the ISP smtp email server (if they have one) for sending messages.

I had the same problem when I went to TT and found that on the blank e mail page where your address normally goes the BT one will usually come up automatically.
Click on the side and you get a drop down which shows your other ISP and the BT one.
Click on the TT one and this will then take the place of the BT one. Then continue as usual.
Leave the BT one on your system as it will receive e mails from people you have not informed of the change into the Yahoo mail box.
Hope this helps as I have kept it as simple as I can understand it.

Often the webmail offered by pay as you go (dial up) services requires you to be logged onto their service to use their outgoing mail server for obvious security reasons.

Contact your old ISP (or mail provider) and they should be able to help you out.

Alternatively switch to a free web based acount from either Yahoo or Hotmail.
