Can a person who has never been into lit'ture and poems etc in fact hated poems all of a sudden become a poet?

Isn't it like a miracle when a one gets into poetry writng in the age of 30

its possible of course, im developing my writing at the moment, im 23 and up until now i was just a sporty - rugby playing goalkeeper! but in the last few years i have beeing taking my huge reading interest into writing
