"I'm 82 y'know"
"Eee these new fangled contraptions" (when using a mobile phone).
"Just half a cup!" (when offered a cup of tea or coffee!)
"Ew, I can't eat that muck, take it away" (when offered a perfectly decent meal with maybe just one item they don't like eg carrots or something!).
"Back when I were a lass....."
"We'd get on our Sunday Best and go out to the dance, with the fella we were courting, and kick up our heels until 10 o'clock sometimes" (Wow, they knew how to party!)

My Nan in lieu of swearing, would use the curse ''Buckets of Blood'' and the politically incorrect phrase ''She's run off with a Black Man'' in answer to my pestering question,''Where's Mummy gone?'' Also all the old favourites such as ''I'll go to the foot of our stairs'' to express surprise.. there's loads but I'm at work, may update later for you.....

You mean things like....."when I was young we walked 10 miles to school, barefooted and in the snow." LOL Only the elderly population remember WWII, the depression, cars that had to be cranked in the front, full service gas stations, food and/gas ration coupons, heating with coal, etc. You must be taking a class in generetics. And it's not a 'walking stick'--it's a cane.

My grandpy always said, "Take care of yourself while you're young or one day you'll regret it like me." (He's going blind & 3/4 deaf) When my son was born, & still an infant, he would always say "WOW, He's got sooo much to learn it hurts my brain just thinkin about it!" Whipper snapper? I love my Grandpa! He said a couple weeks ago "We should take those Muslims out back & give them the same justice they show us, " Pretended to have a gun & shot them in the head. (That's my grandpy, not me, I don't condone killing anyone, but he was in the WWII) Sorry that's all I can' think of!

'Back in my day...', 'too old to cut the mustard', 'back during the BIG war, WWII', 'you kids ______(fill in the blank)'...that's my vocabulary contribution.
And what bothers me about older people is how they want to talk at length about their illnesses, who is sick, who died, what medications they are on, HOW they take these medications and the state of their bowels, joints, eyes, lungs, stomach, etc.
I am talking about 75 years old and up. That is an older person.

the youth of today... if only they had to go through what we had to during the war
young people these days show no respect to their elders if we spoke to teachers like they do we would have got hit
if we swore at our parents we had our mouth washed out with soap
when you get as old as i am now you will understand
can't think of anymore

Well my grandma wasn't the typical old person. She would say things like "Well, either sh*t or get off the pot." or "Oh, damn it to Hell" or "Honey, go get me another beer out of the ice box."
Hope that helps.
Peace

Hey you young uns don't know how lucky you are,
Ah my old bones are creaking,
