Just take prenatal vitamins. Folic acid is very important in the first few weeks of fetal development, which is before most women even know they're pregnant. OTC prenatal vitamins are okay, but if your OB wanted you to take them, you should've been given a prescription. My pharmacist told me that the only difference between the Rx and OTC is that the Rx have about 600mg. more folic acid than the OTC. You can supplement the folic acid by eating foods rich in folic acid, like oatmeal, spinach and orange juice.

Get something designed for pre-conception, like pregnacare (can continue taking this until youve stopped breast feeding)
Dont get a normal supplement, not supposed to have too much vitA when pregnant and the usual supplements can have too much in.
Eat loads of fruit and veg and get some excercise too (labour - if your lucky enough to experience it - is like a marathon)
best wishes

the only nutrient it is in basic terms of course obtainable in animal meals is B12. there are various fortified meals with B12, maximum quite breakfast cereals. A numerous weight-reduction plan of beans, legumes, nuts seeds, total grains vegetables and fruit will grant all the different food you like. i'm no longer a vegetarian myself (I eat fish and dairy) yet have run throughout the time of this many cases, omnivores having the perspective thta pork is someway "mandatory" to a healthful weight-reduction plan. Bah!

make sure you start taking folic acid, this will prevent spina bifida developing and any other tubal defects in the embryo. trust me i t happened to me because i didn't take it and sadly that baby wasn't meant to be, i have two healthy boys.

I know you need zinc for men and women's reproductive systems. My hubby and I took centrum pills (the multi-vitamin) and it only took us one month to conceive... I dunno if that had anything to do with it or not, but I thought I would pass on the info. Good luck.
