Yes you need an active background antivirus agent and should scan for spyware on a regular basis. It need not cost any money as there are some very good free products available to do the job. See the list of free programs that can be downloaded at http://blog.360.yahoo.com/wektech

I Highly recommend it to people who do not know anything about IT security. I have not use an Anti Virus in years never got a virus/trojan/worm. I do recommend a firewall and to keep Windows updated at all times.

Spyware is a big problem with people. When I have to repair a computer it is mostly due to spyware. I then download a spyware program and fix it. If you download alot of p2p networks then I would recommend get one. Spybot has teatimer feature that healps stop spyware from being installed in the first place. Spyware Blaster is another.

If you have them- hang on to them. Spyware gets in so many different ways now and it doesn't go away unless you have the right tools to remove them. If you don't have them get them for the same reason as above. Adaware SE personal is a great program too and it's free.

Most definately. AVG free is a good anit-virus progam that can
be downloaded and used free of charge. The Yahoo Toolbar
has a very good anti-spy program from Norton that is also free of charge

If you are running Windows then YES you need everything you can to protect yourself.
If you are running Linux or OSX then you can save your money because they are far more secure than Windows.

What the ****!!! You attually have a PC!!!! You wouldnt need to worry about that **** if you spent a few more bucks on a mac, you wouldnt even ask this question!!! Macs don't get that ****!!!!!!!!!
