How Do You Like Your Bedroom Trim...Semi-Gloss Or Satin Enamel?

The Flat Enamel is Behr's newest sheen--sandwiched between the flat and the eggshell. The walls are not perfect, but it is a white, medium traffic room.

Flat enamel for the walls and semi-gloss for the trim. That's exactly waht I just did in my bedroom and it looks great. I really like Behr's flat enamel, it looks like a regular flat paint, but it's easier to clean.

Flat. Flat is easy on the eyes. ALso - most flats are not actually flat and will have some angular sheen. Now eggshell can be OK but understand the range that qualifoes for eggshell includes almost flat to almost semi-gloss. Refer to a sheen chart when choosing an eggshell as they vary by company in reflectiveness.

Trim works best with a nice semi. Makes for a nice accent sheen and easy to wash off hand prints.

The enamel portion of the name does not refer to sheedn. Enamel is a common tern often confused to mean oil based. Enamel is merely the name for a coating that exihibits a certain level of hardness.

You did mention TRIM and I am assuming that that means the doors.... the floor boards... the cornices(if any).. The answer to that is a VERY DEFINITE semi-gloss latex enamel(water based of course),,, Anything else but that will distort from the view that I think you are wanting for the bedroom or for ANY room for that matter.... Eggshelll... or flat enamel on woodwork is gross

I use flat paint everywhere except for the kitchen and bath. Enamel has too much shine for a bedroom. Try a color instead of white which is boring and shows every flaw. My bedroom in painted in Benjamin Moore's Chestertown Buff HC-9 flat. I love it.

bedroom eggshell satin
trim semi gloss
think of dirt, semi gloss you can wipe clean.
even if you don't have kids, you may have a pet or visitor's and life happens...if it's completely flat,it's stuck there forever (learned that the hard way) even moving furniture can mark a wall accidently...
