I give GREAT advice; however, I am not so great at following it. I am a complete hypocrite!

I try very hard not to give advice because people really do not understand how you are really feeling, nor are they in the same circumstances as you. They also may have a different value system to myself. If I do find myself giving advice, it will always be how I would handle the situation, but I am not them. I listen mostly and if asked I will give my opinion, otherwise I will shut up. Sometimes a person doesnt want advice, just someone to unload on. Unless a person is in the same boat as you they can only give opinions, and even if they have experienced the same thing as you, they may handle it totally differently Advice, I think, can be quite damaging especially if a person only wants to talk about their problems. And Advice can stop a person from talking as well. Like I said, if I am asked for advice...I will give my opinion. I am not the expert in another persons problems...they are, I will help them form their own opinions, but not give advice.

I'm not very good at giving advice. When people come to me for advice, I have a hard time figuring out what to say. Hopefully this will get better because I love to help others.

its funny i give great advice im a good listener.. i even hooked both of my best friends with their boyfriends.. but yet im single, yeah i should start taking my own advice lol
