school? Medicaid already pays for ST & OT privately and im wondering if it will also cover the same services offered by school...He need both school & outside help and I'd hate for one of them to be cancelled. This is a TX public school.

If yuor son is in a public school, the school district is responsible for the costs of any services he recieves as part of his IEP. If you are in a private school, then my suggestion would be to contact them and ask how that works. You can also call your local Medicaid contact number and get answers there.

It won't affect your child's outside therapy services. If he gets speech therapy in school on Monday, and then goes for private speech after school the same day, the school district will not bill Medicaid for the school's therapy that day. Don't worry about it; neither one will be cancelled.

Unless medicaid has a cap on services I wouldn't think it would. However, if the services are being duplicated then they may draw the line. You made need to identify how the services are different to justify the cost of therapy.

I am not really sure. But, I don't think it would affect it because the services he is getting in school is school related and services that he is getting out of school would be consider health/medical related. Have you spoken to the school or to Medicaid?
