Indian national flag is called "Tricolour" or "Tiranga" as it has three colors ie saffron, white, green.
I don't think there is any other name for it.

Savarkar was right, the flag of India should be the Bhagva. The current flag symbolically shows Hindus, and Muslims coexisting. This is a lie, Muslims have never lived peacefully with Hindus. Get rid of the Muslim green and replace it with another bhagva band. Having said that, the triangular flag that Shivaji Maharaj used shouldn't be used for political purposes. A rectangular flag with two bhagva bands would be best. I don't live in India, but I still wouldn't salute the flag. It's come to stand for more negative things than positive ones. Yes, Savarkar can be called a national hero. Where were Gandhi and Nehru during WWII? What kind of actions did they take for India? Because of them and their followers India was partitioned, if Savarkar had been in power India would be a lot bigger today.
