I'm pretty sure that the visa you get for Cuba can be removed from your passport so you can enter the USA also if you have a flight into Cuba in the same booking as an American Airlines flight then American Airlines will cancel your booking with them

If you go to Cuba on hols, most of the other holiday makers there are yanks.

Does that mean they dont get back into their own country?

only americans are affected other country nationals have no problems but if you apply for a vis and for some reason they find out you were in cuba who knows maybe they wont let you in

There is a travel ban in effect for American flying to Cuba, if you are not American it should not effect you.
