At the basest level, people discuss other people, when they progress a little, they discuss events and when they attain a level of mature thought, they discuss ideas.

i think its only brain dead women who think like this, they also think that what posh spice etc etcwears is the most important thing in their life, these are the same people who look up to jade goody and want to weight 6 stone at all costs because its what they think is cool.
I just wish my life was so easy that all i had to worry about is someones new handbag.
these same people could not tell you what is happening elsewhere in the world all they care about is looks and what people think of them and one day their little world will come tumbling down

Because we no longer have to worry about where our food is coming from, or whether our crops are failing or whether our kids are going to die before we do. We have far too much time on our hands!

It keeps our minds off the the important stuff like poverty all around us, failing school systems, corrupt government...it is much easier on the mind to argue about useless and meaningless crap such as who is gay or not.

Possibly because they need something to worry about, and they don't have to worry about food or survival, though if they're dumb enough, survival could be in question!

It's not worry, it is humor. So many pretend to be macho (TomCruz) and then when they are outed, it is "Oh my, it's normal!" BS
