in my humble opinion, and sice you asked, i would say that they circumvented and partly let go of thier original aims, but in any fluctuating movement, and with the upheavals that they faced i would add that they did remarkably well to achieve fiftry percent of thier original concepts, the drive and determination that was needed to keep it fresh and alive must have been very difficult, and they say hindsight is the only perfect science, so with that in mind i would say that the movement was successfull. It depends on how you define their aims! If one of their aims was to use mass production to produce beautiful and useful items for every day life, then yes, they did. However, I suggest you get a book on the subject and read up a little. You never know, you might even enjoy the learning process.

is architecture less clutered and streamlined with open spaces then yes
