Aluminium is the most abundant metal (in ore) on the surface.
It was discovered very late as its ores are very tightly bound to their oxygens, so in addition to the massive amounts of heat they are released with additional electrical currents

Your question is a bit vague, but in general Metal is not made it is found in the earth. We just process it to be in whatever form we need. And it depends on what type of metal it is. Gold is totally different in its process than an alloy like bronze. The pure metals are found on the periodic chart and the alloys are made from combinations of metals and sometimes other chemicals. So it depends on what you are making, it can be a very involved process that involves nations around the world, or it could be as simple as finding a gold nugget!

Engineers normally refer to the actual metal (e.g. steel, copper or Aluminium). For most metals they (the ore that is) are heated until they become molten and then separated from the impurities that come out in this process. After that, in the case of steel, it is reprocessed to refine the metal and then alloys and other compounds like carbon are added to improve the properties of the finished steel. The type of alloys added depends on the application of the finished product. The process is similar for all metals with variations in the process because of the different melting temperatures, alloys used and the effects of oxidation on the process.

It is simply melted to remove from it the unwanted minerals and then you have pure metal ,
generally most metal are mixed to improve there quality but in some cases such as gold once it has been melted and separated from the rock in which in lies then the process is complete .

firstly take 4 biker types, lead guitar, bass guitar, at least 1 microphone, several marshall amps and a few practice sessions and you have metal.
the same proccess applies to heavy rock.
(add mohicans for punk).
