when do u think the world wiil run out of oil and what will we use when it does?

To answer your question it is not that the world will run out of oil, but that it will increasingly become less economically feasible to extract. Energy in the near future will have to be a bunch of different options (wind, solar, passive, geothermal, nuclear[waste problem], bio-fuels[carbon problem], clean coal and waste incineration[again carbon problems], however hydrogen power could one day be the dominate energy source.
We also need to think in terms of converting to other energy sources before oil becomes so expensive, then we won't be able to afford building another energy infrastructure, also petroleum is increasing becoming to valuable to waste in a combustible engine, i.e. plastics and other chemicals are a better used this way, etc.

at the present rate of consumption of fossil fuels, and the rate of increase in resources - 150 years, but long before that one of the following will stop use of fossil fuels:
global warming because of excess of CO2 in the atmosphere.
alternative renewable sources of energy becoming more attractive.

i thought i heard something one time about recycling corn stalks to use energy, but then wouldnt we run out of corn to eat??
i gues there's always that museum in britian that wanted to recycle the human waste from the bathrooms to use as energy...
