Yes. If the artist has claimed a copyright on the music, then it is their intellectual property, and they have the right to benefit from it. When you download it without paying, you are stealing that benefit from them.

If you download music, ask yourself this - if you were the person that wrote or performed it, would you mind if hundreds of thousands of people downloaded a copy without paying you anything for it? If you would object to losing that income, and you download it any way, you are a thief.

well it is illegal. why is because someone owns it, and they want money for it. u by downloading it for free, the owners get nothing. and they dont like that.
