I'm sure the element of anonymity has something to do with it, yes. Maybe you're just getting the bad luck of the draw. Many times, people ask questions here because they are nervous, embarrassed or afraid to ask them anywhere else. Henceforth, we see topics on Answers that most people think about routinely but don't talk about. When the subject of the question is a hot-button issue, some men (or whatever possibly offended group- be it "Men" or "Feminists Nazis for PETA"), will hop on it and "unload" all of their anger and bitterness while responding to the question, because they don't know when the next time it is that they will be able to get those emotions off of their chests. Seems unfair sometimes, but at least we Askers usually get 1 or 2 good responses between all the dips and the jerks...

Because they are anonymous in their answers and like
to show off. When one answers some garbage and slang
another will take him on and try to beat him negatively.
I think this is a "macho" syndrome and has nothing to do
with testosterone levels. They are not insulting only you
but are also defying the terms of Yahoos‘s service and the
community‘s guidelines (which they most possibly have not
read). It has already been worse and seems to be getting
better. Most of these guys can write proper English, so there
is no excuse not to do so, as required by the service.
Cheers to you for having brought up this question, Iain

Sweetie, I am generally one of the nice people, but look at if from my point of view. Ok, I work in a state agency, the personell people tell us not to even get accused of any type of sexual harrasment, or we get fired. Women can dress any way they want to, say anything they want, and act anyway they want and that is ok. If I so much as make a very nice compliment in a respectful manner, I could lose my job.
Now consider this darling, 25 years ago, if you took society as a whole, men were sorrier than women, but today if you consider society as a whole, women are sorrier than men.
I'm sorry lady, but I have a very low opinion of women these days. There are some very nice and lovely women out there if you don't get killed in the process of finding them. My email is tgm004@yahoo.co.uk I would love to make you feel better if you want to talk. Gerald

Since 'insensitive' is relative, somewhat ambiguous, and a term of judgment, it's really hard to answer the question reasonably. Males and females are often judged as being insensitive, though men frequently prefer to use other adjectives - that are usually not quite as tasteful. Is it insensitive if a man would rather go to a car and boat show than go shopping for Christmas? Is it insensitive if a woman would rather go to a friend's baby shower than accompany a man to a motorcycle rally? (By the way, I am a little past the stage of life where testosterone attacks are relevant to my interpretations.)

okay the reason men are the way the are is because there fathers most likely taught them that, and in addition their mothers hugged them way to much or not enough. see back in the old days women where nothing they could vote or give their oppion and the could not even own land.men thought that we were worthless .then the big bad man decided that we were worth something and they gave us a little lea way to change some of the things we didn't like well, but we were to smart for them and we became to powerful for them. they could not shut up or put us back in our places so now they are scared of us and so they act insensitive to us because nothing else really makes them feel like men but that. ( because in most cases they don't run their house hold, they have a women boss, their doctor and their hair stylist are all women. they feel small and to be big is to hurt others. hope that helps.

What can I say? Men mature slower than women and some never seem to mature. I was raised by six daughters so I have an attitude much akin to a rabid pit bull with pms, this helps me cope with idiots and computers as I do tax returns to keep my wallet full for the daughters' benefit. Some people have couth and some don't; the ones who don't can kiss my "you know what".

Because it's fun, no really, I think most people looking for answers on this site especially in the dating realms are either too young to have a relationship, or are stupid as hell. When a person who is not retarded or young asks a question, I answer it to the best of my ability, however, when a 13 year old idiot who can't even express them selves properly asks a question it's fun to mess with them. You get 2 points either way.

I think it is because of the hiding behind the screen in most cases, but it is probably them just releasing what they normally have inside and don't have the balls to say. Half the people on here are probably under 18 also.

They are trying to be witty most of the time, even if they're just being plain mean, they are anonymous, with no consequences for what they say. I bet if they're girlfriends or wives (if they are lucky enough to have one) saw what they were writing, they would get an ear full.
Some men are over grown boys with more expensive toys.

I was going to answer this question but I recognise your username and don't want to get enbroiled in another unwinable argument as I like the truce we came to and I respect you for that.
However you'll find many women on here are just as bad as the fella's.
To be fair we and you can say anything on here, that's the beauty of it, however just because we can doesn't always mean we should.
