I will be buying these soldiers gradually, so i'm looking for expensive geniune collectors items. Can you come up with well known brand names to get me started.

To be perfectly honest – what collectors would call “expensive” would usually be lead soldiers which are no longer made due to the harmful nature of lead, and the fact that it is sweet, making it all too appealing for children to eat.

I would recommend you went to GamesWorkshop (Stores in the UK, US and Canada), they have workshops and various styles of soldiers and war tables. It’s a wonderful hobby to get a child into – it can be very educational and improve hand/eye coordination as well as delicate motorics.

try conte.com they are out of las vegas, Nv. If you dont like what you see try the internet for miniatures toy soldiers. They will come in metal or plastic. I started my son off on plastic miniatures from conte because of the detail and the different varieties. They also come painted or unpainted. Hope you find what you need.

You could try E-bay , but be very careful, they have a lot of dealers in China and may not be genuine.
This site in America may be better.
