im 14 and live i the uk. i want people to know that not all muslims resort to violence and kill innocent people. i want them to know that the muslims who do resort to violence should not represent our religion but i just dont know how to do this!

You can start at your own Mosque, why aren't they publicly condemning the violence? Are they afraid of something or do they condone the violence?

Hmm well if you are a muslim (I presume you are?) start by doing something local. Like talk to your neighbours and people around you (not friends I mean), let them see that even though you are a muslim, you are just like everyone else (a good brit sport :P).
I don't know, help an old lady with her bags or something and just chat, when she sees that you are a nice person despite your reliigion, then you will be doing something positive. Things like that I mean, start by changing people's views about muslims towards the better. That's all I can think right now.

The only thing I can see you doing is living your life in peace.
I doubt you will change my mind. I understand some Muslims are peaceful and some are not. But you must admit that your book directs you to kill me. Based on that I must assume that all Muslims are potential threats until they convince me otherwise.
Please understand, most people are only after survival. I don't want to kill you but I don't want you to kill me even more.
I seriously doubt we will ever understand each other, I just hope our exchange here has done some good for both of us. I hope you find a great answer to your question. Frankly, I think the whole world could use it.

Well, I think most people know that but the newly created stereotype is getting in the way. I really don't think you can change the minds of the people of think all Muslims are cruel because they are just plain ignorant. The only way I think you could help with it is not being violent yourself which I am sure your not if your asking this question.

I think it's really difficult to change people's view on any matter, not just ones based on religion and beliefs. The best that you can do is to educate those to the best of your ability and hope they open their minds to accept, or at least acknowledge your point of view. I sometimes feel hurt when I read people's comments on here about certain topics, so I understand how you feel wanting to change some minds. good luck!

To change peoples view they have to be willing to listen...and right now not many people are willing or able to hear. Your probable best action would be to live by example. And frankly you will have to do it bigger and better to even begin to make a change around you. All you can do it live your life in a respectful manner and make your little corner of your world a better place to be. You'll make a difference in someones life...and you probably won't know it.
