Well I live in the top of the house & I have a great view but things no doubt will change for the worse shortly. My living space is about 18x17 the bathroom is more of a problem for my 1.93 frame & the bedroom well a double bed & fitted wardrobes with the other room used for storage so, there are possibilities & with some imagination you could run wild Good Luck all I need now is a companion to share mine with!

Get it boarded with a loft ladder and a light. I got one of these companies who do all for £250 though you could DIY cheaper. You will need a qualified electrician these days to have any electric put in the roof space. I got Warm Roof to put in a velux window and spray insulation on the inside of the roof so that the room stays warm and clean but that costs. Use the eaves for storage and cover with curtains. Then use the rest of the roof as you like. I use mine as a music room come computer room come chill out room.

The office suggestion is good; part of our large loft conversion is that. The other thing we have that would still work in a small loft is loads of built-in cupboards under the part of the slope that is too low to be useful as room space.

Just build your partition all making sure you do not encroach on your neighbor's space. You might want to make sure you contact your local governing agency about a building permit. If you build without a permit and the neighbor finds out it could cause an issue. Better safe than sorry. eh?

I'd put in a home office where you'd spend a lot of time sitting (typing, etc).
