i want to make a quilt for my grandaughter with her cheerleading pictures on it .

Your best bet is to buy special fabric sheets that are made to go through your inkjet printer. You can buy them at most fabric/craft stores. There are several different brands, so read the instructions carefully before you buy. Some require heat setting, some cannot be washed - be sure to get the best product for what you need.
Be careful not to choose the iron on transfer paper - that's not made for long term use. It's fine to do a cheap t-shirt, but for a quilt you want something that will last a long time.
