i have difficulties choosing my major. i'm an indonesian high school senior, who wish to persue business career in the future. is it better for me to take business major or economics major? since i think, my career would be better with economics background. Would it be a matter in my career?? What is the difference anyway? btw, i'm planning to apply for smu in singapore for next year intake. so, any smu students would be very helpfull. thx.

I would not do just economics major as it is specialized and sometimes when you are too specialized it makes it more challenging to find a job. A business degree is more rounded. You should also see if you can get a concentration/ minor in economics or take extra courses in it.

Economics is a business subject and more specialized than just business. I would look for a degree that was a business one but offered a specialization in economics, that way you would combine the 2 subjects together. You could do an economics degree now then go off to grad school and get a MBA.
