I ask for one, whip gives me ten. Typical repuglican intelligence. I did get some intelligent answers from repuglicans though. Surprising as it is.

Tough question, Above all for me however is the people's right to have decent and affordable Healthcare. The corporate greed seen in todays pharmaceutical/medical companies and the callous disregard toward citizens from the criminal bush administration is obscence.

IMHO, education is most important. Uneducated people are more likely to commit crimes, live in poverty, and vote with the political winds rather than make informed decisions. I believe teachers have a duty to teach the children who want to learn. I believe any teacher not doing their job should be let go. I believe parents are the ultimate authority over their children, and should be completely involved in their childrens' education. I believe educated parents should be involved in curriculum selection, and have the right to veto any teaching materials that serve only to indoctrinate, rather than teach. I believe politics and religion belong in the public school. We cannot raise well-rounded future leaders if they do not have a basic grasp of all groups. I believe the children of today will be the ones who decide what happens to our social security, so they must be well-schooled in economics. I believe that if a school is not performing at the level of schools around it, parents should be allowed to enroll their children in a school that does. I believe sports are necessary for developing competitive, fit children, but are useless if the quarterback cannot write his own term paper.

there's too many issues i consider important, but the overall theme i consider important is equality regardless of race, heritage, gender, and sexual orientation. sadly enough this country hasn't budge its position on equality from the civil rights movement era. in my case, i still see segregation. though it's not directly obvious from back in the day, segregation is still present subtlly. if the government decides to relook at the policies they pass & change it, i think we can then step forward into a better america. (i know that this view may not happen, but at least there's someone out there thinking about it.)
